I like to think of myself as an intellectual hedonist, and as far as physical hedonism is concerned, I call myself a responsible hedonist. I enjoy life, try to avoid stress, and get my share of fun, but I am also a huge advocate for my children and their well-being.
Fortunately, I have fallen into healthy patterns of behavior in my middle-age. I'm usually in bed before midnight and rise with the Sun, I delight in driving my kids to their various post-school destinations, I enjoy cooking for my family and just hanging out at home playing cards and darts with them. It just so happens that work is fun, too.
My typical day is divided up between researching technical topics, recording podcasts, playing/practicing guitar, recording and producing music and video, shopping, cooking, running kids, putting laundry away, and playing darts with my lovely wife before bedtime. I am fortunate to be able to do what I love and still feed my family. So if I haven't thanked whoever or whatever is responsible for that, thanks dude. You rock.
Gotta go now. Some musicians just showed up and they're on a mission!
